Cathedral was cut to 20-1 (from 33) with Unibet for next year's 1,000 Guineas after defying greenness to make an impressive debut in the 6f maiden at Lingfield.

Amo Racing's Too Darn Hot filly was sent off 1-2 and surged home in the straight to finish four and a quarter lengths clear of Godolphin's Warm Summer.

Races like the Cheveley Park and Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes are now among potential options for the exciting Ralph Beckett-trained prospect.

"Ralph put her in the perfect place to start and she's won impressively," said Amy Drummond, racing manager to Kia Joorabchian's Amo Racing. "She has a Moyglare entry but she won't go there as it'll come too soon.

"We'll make sure she comes out of the race okay but there's a few options. There's the Cheveley Park and the Oh So Sharp, but they're only being considered at the moment, nothing is certain. I'm sure Ralph will make more of a solid plan for her in the coming days.

"She's exciting for next season and it's important she gets that experience as a two-year-old. We've got quite a few nice horses to look forward to next year."

The victory was one of three on the day for David Egan, who also won the opening 5f handicap aboard Zeno for Robert Cowell and guided Thoughtful Gift to strike in the mile handicap.
