Victory for last year's Cheltenham Festival winner Jazzy Matty in the 2m5f chase was the highlight of a 67-1 double for Cian Collins and Jordan Gainford, but it could so easily have been a 407-1 treble had Brandt not crashed out at the last when seemingly in command of the 2m5f handicap chase.

Despite that blip by Brandt, it was still a memorable afternoon for Collins as there was quick compensation for Jazzy Matty, who was pulled up very early on his previous start at Listowel having lost his action, but showed no ill effects of that with a solid jumping display under Gainford.

Space Tourist, sent off the 4-9 favourite, did her usual party piece of jumping out to her left and she paid the price for those erratic leaps as the 2023 winner of the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle was a length and a half too good for her at the line.

Earlier on the card, Collins and Gainford teamed up to land the 2m5f beginners' chase with 7-1 shot Great Ocean

Brazil beaten

The 2022 winner of the Boodles was also running on the same card. Brazil, who beat Gaelic Warrior that day, was on duty in the 2m1f beginners' chase but was last of seven. Cossack Chach, Joseph O'Brien's only runner of the meeting, justified 2-1 favouritism under JJ Slevin.

Joy for Judicieuse

The opening 2m1½f mares' beginners' chase saw even-money favourite Nara depart at the fifth-last, leaving the way clear for Judicieuse Allen to take the spoils for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend.
