Rematch on! Bravemansgame and Ahoy Senor among Charlie Hall entries
Bravemansgame and Ahoy Senor could be set to renew their rivalry for a fourth time as last season's high-class novice chasers feature among ten entries for the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase (3.35) at Wetherby on Saturday.
Paul Nicholls has already booked Harry Cobden to take the ride on Bravemansgame, who will be looking to bounce back from a flop at the end of last season in the Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree.
That day, Ahoy Senor – who Bravemansgame had beaten easily in the Kauto Star at Kempton – triumphed in an easy win for Lucinda Russell.
The pair are equally rated at 161 ahead of their first season outside of novice company. Yet there are big expectations, with Ahoy Senor as short as 8-1 for the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Bravemansgame a 4-1 second favourite for the King George at Kempton on Boxing Day.
Nicholls could also be represented by Secret Investor, who has been absent since defeating stablemate Clan Des Obeaux in the Denman Chase at Newbury in February 2021.
Eldorado Allen is officially the best horse in the race. The Joe Tizzard-trained runner won the Denman Chase at Newbury in February over this three-mile trip but was well beaten when last seen in the Bowl at Aintree.
Grade 1 winner Dashel Drasher and Scottish National hero Win My Wings also feature in the line-up along Sam Brown, who was successful at Aintree's Grand National meeting at the backend of last season.
Paint The Dream, Good Boy Bobby and Some Chaos are also possible runners while supplementary entries can be made by 12am on Wednesday.
The other Grade 2 on the card, the bet365 Hurdle, has attracted eight runners including Sporting John, Indefatigable and Threeunderthrufive.
