This is the time of year when restraint goes out of the window. There is no reason why that cannot equally apply to racing writers looking forward to the Boxing Day fare.
Just as it would be horribly unseasonal to reject the extra mince pie or foil-wrapped chocolate, why should we try to temper our excitement when it comes to this fabulous Kempton card?
The King George looks a cracker, with an unusually large field set to serve up a race filled with quality as well as quantity. The Christmas Hurdle has very little in the way of quantity but, ye gods, what quality! Santa could have delivered nothing better than Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth squaring up in a clash of momentous proportions.
