Wetherby runner's strong festival-related form and a potential Wolverhampton handicap blot - punting pointers for Tuesday

Punting pointers for each of Tuesday's meetings . . .
Exeter: Tizzard's veterans' chances
Joe Tizzard is responsible for two of the five runners in the feature 2m3f veterans' chase (3.17) and he is a trainer to keep on side in this sphere having saddled Copperhead to win the Veterans' Chase Series Final in January.
Le Ligerien beat the likes of Gallic Geordie and Saint Xavier, who have won higher-class and more valuable races since, when last seen in December and a 6lb rise may not prevent him from following up that Lingfield victory.
The 12-year-old is the choice of stable jockey Brendan Powell, while Tizzard has booked Jack Tudor, who has ridden two winners from seven mounts for the trainer this season, for The Widdow Maker.
Tizzard said: "Le Ligerien won nicely earlier in the season and loves these veteran races. He won't mind the slightly quicker ground so he should be competitive.
"The Widdow Maker has run quite nicely in a couple of hurdle races since coming back from two years off and is going back over fences. I'm not sure he retains the ability he used to have, but he's in good enough form and it's the right sort of race."
Exeter stat: hot jockey
Chad Bament has ridden seven winners from his last 11 mounts (64 per cent strike-rate) and he partners Sea Invasion in the 2m3f handicap chase (5.02).
Wetherby: Grand form comes into focus
Grand Albert has been unlucky to run in races won by subsequent Cheltenham Festival winners on three of his last four starts and he could be hard to beat in the feature 3m novice handicap chase (3.35).
The one occasion that the Donald McCain-trained seven-year-old did not bump into a future festival hero on those outings was when scoring by 25 lengths over this track and trip in December.

Grand Albert was beaten only a length by National Hunt Chase winner Haiti Couleurs off level weights in a Bangor novice hurdle last April, and his chasing debut third to Caldwell Potter at Carlisle looks very respectable now after the winner's front-running success in the Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase.
It is unsurprising that he struggled when giving Myretown 7lb at Kelso last time given the winner went on to impressively land the ultra-competitive Ultima Handicap Chase off a 4lb higher mark.
Wetherby stat: trainer to follow
Three of Tina Jackson's last five jumps runners at Wetherby have won and she is represented by Mister Smarty (2.00).
Wolverhampton: Spirit looks a snip
Forest Spirit, a winner without a penalty in the 1m4f handicap (8.30), holds obvious claims of backing up her weekend victory for in-form trainer Michael Bell.
The four-year-old filly escapes a penalty for a five-length success in Saturday's apprentice handicap at Southwell and should prove a tough nut to crack if handling the quick turnaround.
She also went close at this course three starts ago and her stable is in good form with Bell saddling two winners from his last four runners before racing on Monday night.
