Snowfall was immediately cut for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after she slammed her Yorkshire Oaks rivals on Thursday. Is she the most likely winner at Longchamp in October? Three Racing Post experts have their say.

'I'd take Tarnawa all day long'

It's impossible not to be impressed with the manner of Snowfall's victories this season and she is a worthy favourite for the Arc. However, this year's running looks seriously good and will present a different type of test for Snowfall. Adayar and Tarnawa are superstars of a calibre she is yet to face. If you were offering me 6-1 about Tarnawa or 9-4 about Snowfall I'd take Tarnawa all day long. Nearly four points between the pair in the betting seems too vast.

Superstar Snowfall now 5-2 for Arc success after Yorkshire Oaks procession

'Snowfall is out of the ordinary'

Yes. There is no doubting she has the class and stamina and this Yorkshire Oaks rout proved she is pretty special on quicker ground too. La Joconde and Divinely ensured a good gallop, but for Snowfall to record a quicker time than previous winners Love, Enable, Sea Of Class, Seventh Heaven and The Fugue (all on good ground or quicker) suggests she is out of the ordinary. Wonderful Tonight drifted out to 12-1 (from 13-2) for the Arc but was keeping on again at the finish and clearly needs ease in the ground to be at her best. She should not be discarded, but Snowfall is the one to beat.

'The colts will ask more of her in the Arc'

No. She didn't improve in winning this, with third-placed stablemate La Joconde anchoring the level. Okay, she didn't require a hard ride, quickly drawing clear in the straight under just hands-and-heels riding before being eased in the final strides, and it might be that there was plenty left in the tank. Aidan O'Brien suggested afterwards she's still improving physically, which is a positive. But the colts will ask more of her in the Arc, as may Tarnawa, and she doesn't appeal as a short-priced favourite.
