Users of several bookmaker websites, including bet365, William Hill and Sky Bet, reported experiencing difficulties logging on or retrieving winnings after Saturday's Randox Grand National at Aintree, the biggest betting day of the year.

Responding to online users seeking information on the site outage, bet365 said: "We are currently looking into this and hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."

Punters seeking to withdraw winnings from William Hill and Sky Bet also reported problems with accessing their funds, although they were able to log on to the websites.

Social media users also reported difficulties accessing funds with Ladbrokes, although the site remained online before, during and after the Grand National, according to the bookmaker.

'He wasn't popular at all' – Noble Yeats a big winner for the bookies

Noble Yeats won the Grand National at 50-1 for trainer Emmet Mullins, owner Robert Waley-Cohen and jockey Sam Waley-Cohen, who announced before the race that it would be his last prior to retiring.

While Noble Yeats was among the outsiders for the Grand National, popular horses such as 15-2 favourite Any Second Now, 10-1 shot Delta Work and 12-1 chance Fiddlerontheroof were among those to fill the places at Aintree for punters.
