Three runners for tonight's cards at Musselburgh, Newmarket and Wolverhampton
The weekend is here and what better way to start it than getting stuck into this evening's cards at Musselburgh, Newmarket and Wolverhampton. Below are three runners it may be worth noting . . .
At the bottom of the handicap, this three-year-old is open to improvement for Ian Williams.
On her handicap debut, Born To Spend delivered her best run so far when fourth at Leicester over this evening's 1m4f trip. She also has the assistance of apprentice Jane Elliott, who takes off a useful 3lb.
Hugely consistent, this four-year-old will need a career-best off a mark of 69, but that looks possible given his recent form.
Up 3lb for his most recent victory at Beverley, Pepys has not been out of the first four in six starts this season, winning three times and he still looks to be on the upgrade.
Although a nine-race maiden, Penny Poet has been placed on several occasions and deserves to get her head in front.
She has a record of 5323 at the track, and while this is a step up in class, she stays the trip and should be involved at the finish.
