Down Royal: Billy Lee bids for more success

Down Royal has been a happy hunting ground for Billy Lee this season and he bids to enhance his red-hot form at the track's final Flat card of the year.

Lee, who was among the winners at the Curragh on Saturday, has been the go-to man at Down Royal in 2024. From 26 rides, eight have won for a strike-rate of 31 per cent.

He has five rides on the seven-race card, with his best chance looking to be Golden Circet in the 1m5f handicap (5.35). The four-year-old, trained and owned by Willie McCreery, has to defy a 6lb rise for winning at Clonmel this month, however.

Lee also teams up with McCreery in the 7f fillies' maiden (3.15) with Fairhaven, who wears a visor for the first time after finishing third at Roscommon last month. The other pick of his mounts is Future Cutlet in the 7f maiden (3.50).

Hamilton: Jordan Electrics out to follow up Mallard win

Jim Goldie and the owners of Faylaq have taken the Scottish track by storm this year with Jordan Electrics and bid for more course success with their Mallard Handicap winner.

The eight-year-old has yet to win at the track from 11 starts but has hit the frame on seven occasions, including three second places. In three of his four starts at the track this year, he has finished in the first three.

He caused an 18-1 shock when obliging by a short head in the 1m6½f Mallard at the St Leger meeting at Doncaster last time. He drops back significantly in trip at Hamilton for the 1m1f handicap (3.35) and is 3lb higher in the ratings.

Goldie, who has a 20 per cent strike-rate at Hamilton this year, said: "We're dropping him back in trip but he won over a mile and a quarter at Ayr last month. He's in good form and should run a big race."

Key stat: can Easterby score again in the 5f handicap?

Tim Easterby's last two runners in the 5f handicap (4.45) at Hamilton have won and backing both to a £1 level stake would have yielded a £23 profit. He saddles Stash The Cash this time.

Roscommon: Gainford one to keep on right side

Anytime Jordan Gainford's name is on a Roscommon racecard, it pays to take note.

The Grade 1-winning jockey has struck on two of his four rides at the track this season, with his two other mounts finishing third.

Gainford, who has started this term fairly quietly with nine winners, bids for his first Graded success of the season aboard Air Drop in the Kilbegnet Novice Chase (5.10).

Trained by Gordon Elliott, the six-year-old has yet to win over fences in three starts, including when beaten 11 lengths at Listowel this month.

This is not the strongest Grade 3 but she will have to reverse the form with her Listowel conqueror San Salvador. Galway festival winner Thecompanysergeant also runs, while Arctic Fly represents champion trainer Willie Mullins.

Windsor: well-bred Tazima aims to make a winning debut

Should the meeting survive a 7.30am inspection, the mile maiden (3.20) is being targeted by connections of some late-developing, well-bred three-year-olds, notably the Ralph Beckett-trained Tazima.

The son of Awtaad, who is making his debut, has a sprinkle of stardust in his pedigree.

Bred by Shadwell Estates, he is a half-brother to none other than Taghrooda. She lit up the 2014 Flat season with victories in the Oaks and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, before finishing her career with third place in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Tazima last changed hands for €68,000 at the 2022 Goffs Orby Sale.

A key rival is Earl Of Rochester. By Dubawi and out of the Group 2 Lancashire Oaks winner The Black Princess, he has not been seen since finishing a close third in the Wood Ditton Stakes in April.

Wolverhampton: can Knight strike with his only runner?

William Knight has enjoyed a fruitful year at the track but aims just one runner at its nine-race evening card.

The Newmarket-based trainer is flying along at a 31 per cent strike-rate at the track in 2024, with five winners from 16 runners. Four more have finished second or third.

Knight relies on Dubawi Time to keep that fine run going when he contests the 1m4f handicap (8.00). The three-year-old is yet to win in four starts for the trainer but has finished second twice.

He was caught out by the slow surface when third at Epsom last time and will be ridden by Luke Morris, who rode a double at the track's last meeting on Friday.

Knight said: "It looks like a good opportunity for him. He probably didn't quite see out the trip on testing ground last time, but being back on a sharper mile-and-a-half track on the all-weather should suit him down to the ground. For me, he's a winner waiting to happen and hopefully this will be his day."
