'This is a valuable race and has been the plan for a while' - analysis and key quotes for the Kempton feature

Jumps trainers are well represented in this fiercely competitive Flat all-weather handicap, with the Fergal O’Brien-trained Oslo likely to attract support.

Rated 120 over hurdles, he caught the eye over this course when a never-nearer fourth behind Goblet Of Fire in September. Twice hampered when making progress that night, it’s entirely possible a Flat mark of 76 underrates him.

The Lucy Wadham-trained The Glen Rovers was a smooth course-and-distance winner in September off a 7lb lower mark. He pulled too hard when a beaten 3-1 favourite last time out, and should be better suited by the likely strong gallop.

Charlie Longsdon’s Parramount has a string of creditable Flat efforts this year, and a two-and-a-quarter-length third to Rockit Tommy last month reads well. Rockit Tommy bolted up by four and three-quarter lengths off 7lb higher on a return visit to Kempton last month.

Ludo’s Landing looks high in the weights after victories at Beverley (twice) and Kempton this year. He is 4lb worse off with Sonnerie Power, whom he beat by a length over course and distance in September.

God Of Fire made rapid progress during the summer, rattling off a hat-trick at Beverley, Kempton and Windsor. He has changed stables since going down by half a length to Life On The Rocks at Windsor in August, and could have been laid out for this £70,000 prize. The four-year-old competes off a career-high mark, but strongly appeals as the type who has more to offer.

Going news

The going on the all-weather track at Kempton was described as standard to slow on Sunday morning.

What they say

Daniel Kubler, joint-trainer of Siempre Arturo and Andaleep
Andaleep was second in this last year and we've had this in mind for a while. He's super consistent and is well drawn [in stall three]. Siempre Arturo is very progressive and won a competitive race well last time, but the draw [in stall 13] is not the kindest.

Marco Botti, trainer of Magico
He's been consistent, with the exception of his last run at York on soft ground. He's won twice at Kempton but he's drawn widest of all in stall 14. That's a disadvantage, but we have an experienced jockey in Kieran Shoemark.

Fergal O'Brien, trainer of Oslo
He's done well switching between the Flat and hurdles, so once we qualified we thought we'd roll the dice. We've got a good jockey on board in Hayley Turner and are hopeful of a big run for a big pot.

Charlie Longsdon, trainer of Parramount
He's got fantastic form on the Flat without winning. He runs a cracker and seems to place every time. We're trying cheekpieces and he must have an each-way chance. This is a valuable race and has been the plan for a while.

Lucy Wadham, trainer of The Glen Rovers
He was entered in the sales but we realised we were qualified for this, so decided to go for it. He's progressive and has just got in at the bottom of the weights.
