The highly anticipated sequel is here - strap yourselves in for Fact To File v Galopin Des Champs II
Fact To File won the John Durkan but Leopardstown is Galopin Des Champs' playground so it could be different this time
Last month's John Durkan Chase had the feel of The Matrix about it. No, not that a computer somewhere was controlling the race, but rather that you knew it was so good there simply had to be a sequel coming soon. And, lo and behold, here we are five weeks later at Leopardstown for the highly anticipated release of Fact To File v Galopin Des Champs II. It can't be as good as the original movie, can it? Of course it can.
The two main characters are back for the sequel in the Savills Chase (2.35) and that's all that matters, really. The rest of the cast has changed ever so slightly but Grangeclare West, Inowthewayurthinkin and Minella Cocooner all return and Grand National hero I Am Maximus has been added to the plot so, you never know, it might be one of those rare occasions when the second instalment of a series is better than the first.
The location has changed. The set has been moved from Punchestown to Leopardstown and, while that might seem like a minor detail to some, it's not. It's a big deal. A massive deal. A game changer.
