He flopped last time in a valuable handicap hurdle at Ascot but there were plenty who did not run their race there and he can be forgiven. They look sure to go at a frantic pace and that really will suit him.

Maddy Playle, journalist Current Mood ran well in two Grade 2s over 2m5f and 3m at Cheltenham before Christmas and beat Kingofthewest, who has won since and runs in the EBF Final, back down to 2m at Chepstow last time. I like strong stayers in this race and her mark isn’t insurmountable with her rider’s 3lb claim.
