The Listed Ardilaun Hotel Oyster Stakes has a couple of star names on its roll of honour, most notably Princess Zoe in 2020, and this year's renewal looks particularly competitive with Sir Mark Prescott sending over Rouge Sellier, who was last seen finishing fourth at Hamilton.

The three-year-old looked a filly with huge potential when storming 15 lengths clear in a novice event at Kempton, but she was held back by a sedate gallop when stepping up to Listed company on her last start, racing keenly in the early stages.

This bigger field should be more to her liking and soft ground wouldn't be too much of a concern given she seemed to handle it well on her debut at Haydock last year. The trainer's only previous runner at Galway, Elusive Dream, scored back in 2006.

Romzina showed an excellent attitude to prevail in her maiden at Cork and it looked like she would appreciate this step up in trip given how well she saw it out. She lacks experience but could be the most talented of these.

Andromeda got off the mark at the fifth attempt over course and distance last month and soft ground won't inconvenience her, while Galileo Dame would also handle any further rain given her most impressive performance came when winning a Leopardstown maiden on testing ground in April.

The Shark Hanlon-trained Enfranchise was an excellent second in the race last year and will benefit from this drop in trip, as she seemed to have her stamina stretched when running twice over longer trips at the Galway festival. She rates the each-way pick.

Beechwood has filled the runner-up spot twice in two efforts for her new stable and will handle this trip based on her fourth-placed finish at this level at Cork, while Ob La Di is worth a mention after she showed a good attitude at Bellewstown last time in what looked a strong maiden. The 97-rated Rubies Are Red was in third and the front three pulled 13 lengths clear, so she is worth chancing to get in the money.

Going report

The ground is soft, with conditions expected to be mainly dry on Monday. There is the possibility of some light showers on Tuesday.

What they say

Paddy Twomey, trainer of Beechwood
She's got good form this year and she had a good run when fourth over a mile and a half before she came to me. We've started her off over a mile and then went up to a mile and a quarter and I think she'll take this step up in trip too. I think any ease in the ground would be a help to her.

Johnny Murtagh, trainer of Ob La Di
It's a big step up in class and she has to make up a few pounds on the ratings. She's in good form and should handle the ground well and it's important that we look for a bit of black type with her.

Sir Mark Prescott, trainer of Rouge Sellier
She won her maiden by a long way, which surprised us, and then just missed black type at Hamilton. The winner [Kalpana] was very impressive last week. On the figures she's got a chance and on pedigree she'd like the ground a bit easier like it is there, rather than how it was at Hamilton.
