'She won only in nursery company last time but that form has a solid look to it' - expert analysis and trainer quotes for Group 3

It's not easy to win a juvenile Group race after just one run, and it hasn't been done in the Dick Poole at Salisbury since Winning Express scored for Ed McMahon in 2012.

In fairness only 17 fillies have tried since then, and that trend will be under threat here with four of the ten coming here after a sole win, and three of them occupying the first three in the betting.

Of those, the William Haggas-trained Jewelry was one of the most taking on the eye as she spreadeagled her field at Newbury just under three weeks ago, although she did so as a weak 14-1 shot for a stable that obviously knows the time of day.

Add the fact the entries for all the big two-year-old fillies' races at the end of the season have closed and she is not in any of them (unlike the other three) and you get the impression she may have caught her trainer on the hop.

That won't stop her from winning again, but her form has barely been tested, and the same is true of market rival Tabiti, who also won easily last month (just two beaten rivals beaten again since).

The form of Troia and Greydreambeliever, who both won their races in July, has been better tested, but none of the beaten horses has managed to win (runner-up to the former was well beaten by Jewelry, while a couple of the latter's victims have finished second), so it will be interesting to see if the market has it right.

Four of the last five winners of this had run at least four times before heading to Salisbury, and that brings in the top three form horses according to official and Racing Post Ratings.

Betty Clover is top of the pile with her neck second to Simmering at the same level at Ascot the best piece of form, although she beat only one home in the Lowther last time on a course where she had won earlier in the season, and is hard to fancy on that score.

The hat-trick-seeking Magic Mild won only in nursery company last time but that form has a solid look to it, not least because the four-length sixth, the reopposing Miss Fascinator, won so easily next time she would now be worse off if they ran against each other in another handicap.

Going details

The going is good to firm, good in places but is expected to ease with a Met Office yellow weather warning in place for heavy rain. Clerk of the course Jeremy Martin said: "We could get 10-15mm of rain and that would turn the ground to the slow side."

What they say

Roger Varian, trainer of Miss Fascinator
She's a fast ground filly so if they get the rain they say is around it may not suit her so much. She's had a great summer and is dropping back to six from seven furlongs but she's got speed so that should not be an issue.

Barry Mahon, racing manager to Juddmonte, owner of Tabiti
She was well regarded before her debut and won nicely. The drop back to six furlongs might not be ideal but there's not many opportunities for her and she hopefully has enough speed. We wouldn't want too much rain and it be much worse than good.

Ed Walker, trainer of Troia
This has been on our radar since the ground was too soft for her to run in the Prestige at Goodwood. It's an open race but she is exciting and been given plenty of time since her debut win. I'd rather be running her over seven furlongs than six but she didn't look slow on her debut and hopefully this could be a stepping stone to the Rockfel.
