Cesarewitch favourite Sixandahalf joins The Lion In Winter as a big-name Newmarket absentee
Sixandahalf is the latest big-race market leader to be ruled out of Newmarket's Saturday card after Gavin Cromwell took the four-year-old out of the Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap (3.40) as he is lame.
The daughter of Snow Sky was a winner on the July course on her last start in Britain before finishing third in the Irish Cesarewitch and was the general 11-2 favourite to go two better in the Newmarket equivalent.
Jacovec Cavern, Hayley Turner's first ride for trainer Emmet Mullins, is the new 5-1 favourite to provide Ireland with their sixth win in the £175,000 event in the last seven years.
Willie Mullins has been responsible for three of those winners but his ante-post favourite, Sea Of Sands, has drifted out to 9-1 (from 6).
Ryan Moore's mount Queenstown has shortened to 12-1 (from 18) but he misses out on his biggest ride of the day after Aidan O'Brien's chances of securing a record ninth win in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes (3.00) were dealt a significant blow when ante-post favourite The Lion In Winter was ruled out of the Newmarket Group 1 due to a bruised foot.
The son of Sea The Stars surged to the top of the markets for the 2,000 Guineas and Derby after landing the Acomb Stakes in impressive fashion at York's Ebor meeting. The form of that Group 3 on the Knavesmire has been boosted significantly since with the runner-up Wimbledon Hawkeye going one better in the Royal Lodge Stakes and fourth-placed The Waco Kid winning the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes.
However, the Ballydoyle juvenile will not get the chance to emulate the likes of last year's winner City Of Troy, with the Charlie Appleby-trained Shadow Of Light replacing him as the odds-on favourite for the feature event and unbeaten stablemate Ancient Truth clear second favourite at a general 11-4.
Last month's Goffs Million at the Curragh had been mooted as a potential target for The Lion Winter after York, but a bruised foot also kept him away from that valuable contest over the same course and distance as his successful debut in July.
Moore now rides The Lion In Winter's stablemate Expanded, with O'Brien also represented by Rock Of Cashel.

Going unchanged at Newmarket
The going at Newmarket remains good to soft, good in places as it was for Friday's fixture at the track. The forecast is dry on Saturday morning with the potential for the odd light shower in the afternoon.
Newmarket is the main focus of ITV's coverage but three races from York's Premier meeting will also be televised. The going on the Knavesmire is soft after 0.6mm of rain overnight took the total up to 15.6mm in the last seven days.
York's Friday fixture raced on going officially described as soft, heavy in places and the forecast for Saturday's card, which is headlined by the £100,000 Coral Sprint Trophy Handicap (2.40), is cloudy and windy with the potential for outbreaks of rain.
