Runaway Naas winner Revoke set for big test on first foray into Listed company at Dundalk

Revoke appeared to be another smart juvenile filly for Ger Lyons when scooting four and three-quarter lengths clear at Naas last time, but she has plenty on her plate on her first foray into Listed company in the Legacy Stakes.

The Blue Point filly is bred to get much further than this 5f trip, but she showed no shortage of speed over 6f on debut when she travelled powerfully before blasting to the front and really kicking into top gear in the final furlong. The bare form is hard to knock given the 85-rated Oxford Rock was in third and she has consistently run to a high level, while the fourth, Grande Marques, finished a close third in Group 3 company at Ayr last time.

The time was also noteworthy as they recorded quicker splits than in the following maiden and only marginally slower than the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes over the same distance. Dropping back in trip isn't ideal but she's very talented.

Powerful Nation proved he is well up to this level when finishing a neck behind Usdi Atohi at Tipperary in July and put in a very taking display when running away with a conditions race over course and distance last month, defeating the reopposing Amazing Athena and Lady With The Lamp.

Sayidah Dariyan comes over from the Richard Hughes stable after destroying a Lingfield maiden by 13 lengths when last seen. Although she went off a starting price of 1-6, the form of the race isn't proving too shabby as the runner-up filled the same spot in a novice event at Chelmsford next time out, while she also clocked a very strong time. She is well worth a shot at this company based on that display.

Arizona Blaze arrives with the highest rating and was agonisingly denied at York last time out, having acquitted himself well when third in the Phoenix Stakes in August. He's won over this shorter trip but in testing ground, so this might prove on the sharp side.

Having finished an excellent third to Tropical Storm at this level at York, Sir Yoshi has a definite chance and rates the each-way play. He showed an aptitude for this surface when second behind Proudly Yours on debut and was unlucky not to finish closer to the front two at York. That form puts him bang in contention.

What they say

Andy Slattery, trainer of Powerful Nation
We think he's a proper good horse. He ran very well when second in Listed company at Tipperary but gave himself a little injury. He wasn't back long before the last day so he probably needed it a bit. He seems in great form and I think he'll step forward from his win the last day.

David Marnane, trainer of Sir Yoshi
He's improving all the time and is getting stronger. It was a career-best at York the last day and you could mark him up a bit because he was on the wrong side. It's been a long season but he seems really well in himself. He was second here on debut and has worked well at the track so we're looking forward to it.

Richard Hughes, trainer of Sayidah Dariyan
We thought she’d win on debut but she got beat, then she won really well last time. It looks a good race for her, she excels on the all-weather and the filly she beat finished second again the other night.
