The six-year-old Titian boasts plenty of solid form at around a mile when there is significant cut in the ground.

The Julie Camacho-trained gelding has been lightly raced this year and will be having only his fifth run of 2024.

A winner off a mark of 79 two starts ago at Ripon, he remains fairly handicapped on his best form off 2lb higher and rates a major player.

The ex-Roger Varian three-year-old Debora’s Dream will be making his first start for Jennie Candlish after being purchased for 80,000gns last month.

His two wins at Nottingham and Sandown in July were both achieved on quicker ground, and he competes off a career-high mark of 88.

Rain is forecast and it might be worth noting Candlish withdrew him from a soft-ground handicap at York this month on account of unsuitable underfoot conditions.

Revich is arguably the most interesting runner based on an attractive handicap mark and his ability to handle the mud.

The eight-year-old has contested stronger handicaps this term, including Goodwood’s Golden Mile in August.

His last win came in September 2023 on good to soft going off a mark of 95. He is 9lb lower now and could prove the answer.

Thunder Roar is sure to have plenty of supporters if making a quick reappearance following Saturday’s Doncaster second to Myal over 7f.

All three wins have been at that trip on deep ground, but he boasts plenty of strong placed form at a mile.

Ground update

The going at Redcar was described as good to soft, soft in places on Sunday and could ease with rain forecast overnight.

Clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson said: "We're good to soft, soft in places and might get one or two millimetres of rain, which could flip the description round the other way. Monday is due to be dry and overcast."

What they say

Tony Coyle, joint-trainer of Thunder Roar
There's not a bother on him after Saturday and he's been bucking out in the field. We were delighted with his run at Doncaster and he probably wants this mile trip now. He's never won over it but he has been beaten a nose and half a length. If there's not much pace we'll let him bowl along, he's very straightforward. I'd presume he'd be the one to beat on form.

Alan O'Keeffe, assistant to Jennie Candlish, trainer of Debora's Dream
We bought him at Newmarket as he has a nice profile. We're still learning about him, but the conditions should suit him. We're looking forward to next season with him, but he's settled in well and is in great form.

Steve Brown, assistant to Julie Camacho, trainer of Titian
He's run well over course and distance and will like the ground. He's coming back fresh and is in good form. We're happy with him and expect him to run well.

Tim Easterby, trainer of Poet's Dawn
He seems in good order. He loves the track and the ground.
