Relative of Ahoy Senor makes his debut at Southwell and a hat-trick-seeking mare at Hexham - Friday's punting pointers
Punting pointers from each of today's race meetings . . .
Dundalk: Egan a jockey to note
David Egan is a rare visitor to the County Louth track but it is worth noting when he does, with two winners from eight rides for a 25 per cent strike rate.
He made his first trip to Dundalk this year and will aim to add more winners to his record with three rides at the track on Friday as retained rider for Amo Racing.
At the top of the pile is Persian Bliss, who made a winning debut at the course last month. His half-length success over hot favourite Ozark Daze earned him an opening Racing Post Rating of 86 and he returns over the same trip against six rivals in the 1m2½f rated race (7.45).
Egan also rides two more for Adrian Murray in Gran Habano, who is seeking a first success in the opening two-year-old sprint (4.45), and Special Angel in the 1m2½f handicap (8.15).
Newcastle: can Fromheretoeternity notch her hat-trick?
Fromheretoeternity is on the hunt for a hat-trick for in-form trainer Jennie Candlish in the 2m4½f mares' handicap hurdle (1.55).
The seven-year-old moved from the yard of Declan Queally to Candlish's in the autumn and quickly notched her first win under rules at Worcester under Sean Quinlan.
Cheekpieces proved effective for that win and she doubled up at Hexham last Friday when reverting to novice company.
The daughter of Doyen was raised 10lb for that 18-length romp which means she is officially 3lb well in under her 7lb penalty, a week on from her latest success.
Candlish’s assistant and Fromheretoeternity’s owner Alan O’Keeffe said: “She’s done great since she’s come across. I thought she was very impressive at Hexham. While they’re in good form we’ll keep going.
Newcastle stat: Haslam out to enhance fine track record
Ben Haslam had an impressive 67 per cent strike-rate at Newcastle last season for a £25.75 profit from a £1 level stake. He saddles his first runner at the track this season with Coqolino, who lines up in the 2m4f novice handicap chase (1.20).
Punchestown: red-hot De Bromhead out for more joy
Henry de Bromhead is in flying form at the moment and will seek to improve his record at Punchestown on Friday.
The trainer has scored with his last three runners, including Grade 3 winner Quilixios, and sends one to the County Kildare track alongside Chutzpal at Cheltenham.
His only Punchestown runner is Jasko Des Dames, who seeks a second win over fences after scoring on his chase debut at Wexford last month. The five-year-old was rated 124 over hurdles and could prove a smart chaser in time.
He lines up under Darragh O'Keeffe in the 2m½f novice chase (12.50).
Punchestown stat: deadly Donoghue
Keith Donoghue has a 38 per cent strike-rate at the track this season with three winners from eight rides. He has five rides on Friday, headlined by last-time-out-winner Dee's Getaway in the feature 2m4f handicap hurdle (3.45). Hurdling newcomer Will The Wise, who won on his sole start under rules at the Punchestown Festival, is also of interest in the 1m7½f maiden hurdle (2.00).
Southwell: well-bred debutant on show
Tony Joe is a name to note at Southwell on Friday as the well-bred four-year-old makes his debut in the 2m bumper (2.08).
The brown gelding is a close relative of dual Grade 1 winner Ahoy Senor, who is due to contest next week's Betfair Chase.
Ahoy Senor finished second on his bumper debut but thrived on the switch to hurdles, and Fergal O'Brien will be hoping he has a horse of similar calibre to his sibling in Tony Joe. He takes on six rivals under Liam Harrison including Little Watson, the ride of Elizabeth Gale, who brings experience into the race with a win and a second from two starts.

Wolverhampton: course specialist to look out for
There are no horses with a better record at Wolverhampton this year than Beauzon and the five-year-old seeks yet another win at the track in the 6f sprint handicap for apprentices (4.25).
Ryan Kavanagh picks up the ride on the Ian Williams-trained gelding, who took his record to five wins from seven starts this year when winning at the track on Monday.
Beauzon rattled off a four-timer at the start of the year and this week's win was his first success since, but another winning sequence is not ruled out given his drop in the weights.
He shoulders a 5lb penalty for his latest win but it may not be enough to stop him at a track he has proved more than effective on with a remarkable 71 per cent strike-rate this term.
