Jim Goldie's American in Ayr bidding for national pride after 49-year wait
Scotland expects. Or at least it is very hopeful. Nobody can be that confident when they are on a 49-year losing run.
The country has celebrated two Wimbledon wins by Sir Andy Murray, six Olympic gold medals for Sir Chris Hoy and a couple of number ones sung by Sir Rod Stewart in that time.
And it could well be arise Sir Jim Goldie — if he is up to it after a recent operation — should all go to plan this weekend.
