Three jockeys to follow at Wolverhampton's restricted riders' meeting
Punting pointers for Monday's cards at Plumpton and Wolverhampton
Plumpton: Geturguccion 'in good order'
Eight days on from when she was due to run at Exeter, Geturguccion instead contests the 2m4½f maiden hurdle (12.20) that kicks off Plumpton's seven-race card. The five-year-old was due to take on Dameofthecotswolds in a rematch at Exeter's meeting, which was abandoned for safety reasons due to the high winds.
The Alan King-trained mare had eight lengths to find with Dameofthecotswolds on their previous meeting at Ludlow but that rival franked the form when following up that victory at Doncaster on Saturday.
Geturguccion takes on geldings for the first time in five starts, which have consisted of two points, a couple of bumpers and the hurdling debut. Philip Armson's claim means she receives 10lb from all bar one of her seven rivals as she bids to go one better.
King said: "She’s in good order and I was happy enough at Ludlow when she was second to Nigel Twiston-Davies’s Dameofthecotswolds."
Key stat: Seamus Mullins' perfect record
Both of Seamus Mullins' runners in Plumpton's 3m1½f handicap chase (2.20) in the last decade have won and I See You Well bids to repeat his 2018 victory to maintain the trainer's 100 per cent recent record in the race.
Wolverhampton: who will shine at restricted riders' meeting?
Wolverhampton's nine-race card is restricted to jockeys who have ridden 30 or fewer Flat winners in Britain since November 19 last year. Dale Swift, Laura Pearson and William Carver are the only winning riders from this meeting last year who are back for more.
Swift partners the Scott Dixon-trained pair of Buttercross Flyer (5.00) and Stoneacre (6.00) before getting on Oscar Doodle (8.30) for Olly Williams for the first time. Pearson looks to have the strongest book of rides courtesy of last-time-out course winner Jazzy Angel (7.30) and Al Suil Eile (5.00), whose form figures under the rider read 5151.
Commander Straker chased home subsequent City of York Stakes winner Breege in his juvenile season and contests the 6f handicap (8.00) under Pearson, whose final engagement is Dillydingdillydong (8.30). Simon Hodgson's stable and handicap debutante Mystical Elegance is Carver's sole mount (6.30).
