Royal Ascot Saturday: ITV Racing tips
Our Spotlight experts select their best bets for day five of Royal Ascot
2.30 Ascot
Chesham Stakes, 7f, Listed, ITV
575,000gns purchase Point Lonsdale made a perfect start to his career at the Curragh last month and he bids to extend Aidan O'Brien's record to six wins in the Chesham. He faces impressive Yarmouth winner New Science and the unbeaten pair of Masekela and Great Max.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: POINT LONSDALE
Emphatic winner at the Curragh on debut; yard has good record in this race; big player
Royal Ascot day five tips: Paul Kealy's banker
Jersey Stakes, 7f, Group 3, ITV
Naval Crown ran a staggering race to finish fourth behind Poetic Flare in the 2,000 Guineas and that form has been franked since with the latter winning the St James's Palace Stakes on Tuesday. Fellow Godolphin-owned Creative Force has rapidly ascended the ranks this season and could be hard to beat.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: CREATIVE FORCE
Took his record to 4-5 with comfortable Listed win last time; likeable and progressive
Hardwicke Stakes, 1m4f, Group 2, ITV
Wonderful Tonight proved a revelation when winning two testing-ground Group 1s at the end of last season, including over course and distance, and makes her return in a high-class field. Broome, Hukum, Ilaraab and the former St Leger winner Logician provide stern opposition.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: HUKUM
Won at this meeting last year; looks the type to rate higher yet; respected back here
The Punt Daily: best bet from Tom Collins on day five of Royal Ascot
Diamond Jubilee Stakes, 6f, Group 1, ITV4
Dream Of Dreams has gone agonisingly close in the Diamond Jubilee in the last two years and last season's Sprint Cup hero has a golden chance to make it third time lucky. Glen Shiel, winner of last year's British Champions Sprint, returns to the scene of his greatest triumph.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: DREAM OF DREAMS
Beaten a head in each of the last two runnings and he holds leading claims
King's Lynn ran a fine race to be beaten only three and a quarter lengths in the King's Stand on Tuesday and makes a swift reappearance to bid for another famous royal meeting victory for the Queen. Rohaan, unable to run in the Commonwealth Cup due to his gelded status, takes up this option instead.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: FRESH
Highly respected on two C&D runs; can improve further with an even more strongly run race
Royal Ascot tips: five horses to back on the final day of the royal meeting
Golden Gates Stakes, 1m2f, ITV4
The consistent King Frankel has clashed with some smart types recently and was beaten only a nose on Derby day at Epsom, but gets the chance to get his head back in front for a deserved victory. The progressive Alfaadhel makes his first start in handicap company following victories at Chester and Lingfield.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: KING FRANKEL
Notable second in 1m2f handicaps on last two starts and looked capable of better last time
6.10 Ascot
Queen Alexandra Stakes, 2m5f, ITV4
Falcon Eight was given a masterful ride by Frankie Dettori to win the Chester Cup last time and the duo team up again looking to end Royal Ascot 2021 in some style. Willie Mullins has won the race twice as a trainer and he is represented this year by Stratum, who was fifth in the Vintage Crop Stakes on his latest start.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: STAG HORN
Progressive stayer and this thorough stamina test looks just the ticket
