ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the five races on ITV4 on Wednesday
1.40 York
Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Jorvik Handicap, 1m4f
The opening race of the Dante meeting sets a competitive tone as 16 middle-distance handicappers go to post. Ilaraab has won five in a row, including on the Knavesmire in October, but faces the unknowns of a new trip and a 7lb higher mark. My Frankel, winner of three of his last four starts, is another leading contender, while Throne Hall, Shandoz and Taqareer – all beaten favourites last time – feature prominently in the betting.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Ilaraab
Beaten on debut then won his next five, here last time; could have more left in the tank
2.10 York
Churchill Tyres Handicap, 6f
King Power Racing's Bielsa remains lightly raced for his age and the six-year-old has first-time cheekpieces on for this big-field sprint. Soldier's Minute won this in 2019 for Keith Dalgleish off 6lb lower, while stablemate Aberama Gold is another leading contender.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Roulston Scar
Has useful C&D form on good; has more to come this year and goes well fresh
2.10 York: focus on those drawn low in bid to solve this sprint handicap puzzle
Duke Of York Clipper Logistics Stakes, 6f, Group 2
July Cup winner Oxted brings Group 1 class to the field for Roger Teal and Ryan Moore, but there are a host of dangers including Art Power, Molatham and the unexposed Starman for Ed Walker. Summerghand, who beat Oxted at Newmarket last month, and last season's Ayr Gold Cup winner Nahaarr are others to take into consideration.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Nahaarr
Impressive winner of Ayr Gold Cup over 6f; unexposed and has a bright future
One trainer, one jockey, one horse and one race to follow at York on Wednesday
3.10 York
Tattersalls Musidora Stakes, 1m2½f, Group 3
The Musidora seems certain to have major implications for the Cazoo Oaks betting with Teona and Noon Star, second and third in the ante-post market for next month's Epsom Classic, headlining the eight-runner field. Pretty Polly Stakes winner Mystery Angel and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Snowfall should not be ruled out.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Teona
Impressive at Newcastle when last seen; second favourite for the Oaks; exciting prospect
3.10 York: regally bred Noon Star bids to live up to her stellar pedigree in the Musidora
A three-year-old handicap closes ITV4's coverage and was won by subsequent Group 1 winner Space Blues in 2019. Charlie Appleby is not represented this time but John and Thady Gosden are with Rifleman, who unseated Ryan Moore when challenging in the closing stages of a Sandown handicap last month. Huddleton Mac, Sadiqaa and Bowman are others to consider.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Huddleton Mac
Looks interesting back down in class with reappearance under his belt; retains potential
