History suggests this is the race of the day for punters: it has been run four times and the favourite has never been beaten.

Which points to the chance on Friday of El Caballo, who has dominated ante-post betting after completing a four-timer in Listed company at Lingfield last month.

Main market rival is the unbeaten Tiger Flow, whose trainer William Haggas won the first running of this race with Second Thought in 2017.

What they say

Karl Burke, trainer of El Caballo & Kaboo
El Caballo is in great order. He's been working really well and I'm absolutely delighted with him. I think he's a Group horse in the making and I'm hoping he can show that. Kaboo didn't handle the track at Lingfield. Newcastle will suit him a lot better but I wouldn't think he has the class to handle the other fella.

Marco Botti, trainer of Golden Warrior
He's a nice sprinter in the making and ran well to be third in what looked a decent race at Lingfield. The track was too sharp for him and moving to a stiffer six at Newcastle will be a help. He has a few pounds to find but I think there is more to come from him.

Charlie Johnston, joint trainer of My Dubawi
The money on offer is very good and we think our horse is on a steep upward curve. He has won three of his last four and we have been contemplating dropping back to six furlongs for quite a while because he shows plenty of speed.

Richard Spencer, trainer of Space Cowboy
It's a tough race. It's his first run of the season and hopefully he can be in the mix. He's a course and distance winner and hopefully this can set him up for a decent season.

William Haggas, trainer of Tiber Flow
I think he's a pretty good horse. He is drawn a bit low, which I don't like, but we think he has more to offer, particularly over six furlongs, and a stiff track like this should suit him well.
