Sustained support for Santini as punters take on top two in King George
Clan Des Obeaux and Cyrname continue to duel at the head of the market for the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase but it is Santini who has come in for the most sustained support this morning.
Available at 6-1 overnight, punters have shown interest in the eight-year-old and he is now as short as 9-2 to give trainer Nicky Henderson a fourth King George success.
The King George is one of three Grade 1s on the card at Kempton, along with the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle (2.25) for which Champion Hurdle winner Epatante is the 2-9 market leader.
The other top-class contest is the Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices' Chase (1.50), in which current 15-8 favourite Shan Blue faces The Big Breakaway (11-4) and the classy If The Cap Fits (4-1).
One of the best-backed horses of the morning is Son Of Camas, who is now as short as 4-1 (from 11-2) for the Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (1.15).
The pick of the action away from Kempton may well come from Leopardstown, where six are set to go to post for the Grade 1 Racing Post Novice Chase (2.15).
Felix Desjy remains the narrow 7-4 favourite this morning ahead of the promising Blackbow and Darver Star, who finished third in last season's Champion Hurdle.
The other Grade 1 of the afternoon is at Limerick, where Asterion Forlonge is the 11-10 favourite for the Matchbook Betting Exchange Faugheen Novice Chase (2.35).
The ground at Wetherby is described as soft ahead of a seven-race card headlined by the Grade 3 William Hill Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase (2.05).
Snow Leopardess has been well supported to pick up the top prize of £17,085 and is now the 4-1 market leader with Paddy Power, having been available at 6-1 overnight.
