Wolverhampton: course specialist returns from absence

Lawmans Blis, who runs in the 1m6f handicap (7.30), has not been seen since winning for the third time over course and distance in April.

The seven-year-old, who has four course successes to his name, joined Ivan Furtado from Jennie Candlish at the beginning of last year and his sole defeat for his current trainer at the track came when third behind Kitty Foyle and Theonlywayiswessex, who have both won since.

Jockey Marco Ghiani won on the son of Lawman last time and said: "That was back in April, so it was a long time ago and it will be a case of whether he's fit enough. He's not a bad horse over that trip and hopefully he's in good form and ready for it."

Ghiani has three rides on the card and is quite sweet on the chances of last month's course-and-distance winner Boujee Gold in the 1m½f handicap (5.00).

"She won last time, she has a good draw [stall six] and I'd be hopeful of getting another win on her," he said.
