Expect Mark Walsh's mount to prove popular as jockey bids to improve remarkable record in Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle

The Padraig Roche-trained Win Some Lose Some will likely prove a warm order under Mark Walsh, who has a sensational record in this typically competitive handicap hurdle.

Walsh has steered home the winner four times in a row from 2016 to 2019, all in the colours of JP McManus, and they could have another well-handicapped type ahead of his mark. The five-year-old ran out cosy winner at Clonmel last time out after he seemed to be floundering approaching two out and made a mistake, but picked up nicely from there on, getting up late to win a shade snugly.

An 8lb rise will see him competitive again and good ground is imperative to his chances.

Happy Jacky has had a phenomenal year for trainer Mark Fahey, winning two 3m hurdles in the summer and the Ulster Cesarewitch on the Flat. The ten-year-old ran another belter when reeled in close home at Gowran Park last month, the form of which looks strong given he had to concede upwards of 20lb to two progressive rivals.

The drop in trip isn't ideal but it looks set up for him to dictate from the front and he won't be easy to pass.

Last season's winner Espanito Bello is back for another go off a 9lb higher mark having beaten the reopposing Gaoth Chuil last season. All five of his wins have come at this track and he made a satisfactory reappearance when beaten 15 lengths by French Dynamite over fences on his return. He'd probably want some rain, however.

Missus Beeton travelled like a dream at Punchestown before getting nutted close home by D Art D Art and is a huge player, particularly if granted a decent pace to aim at. It won't be straightforward as she'll need delivering late but will love the ground and is ahead of her mark.

The each-way angle is The Busy Fool, who ran some promising races in maiden company behind the likes of Zefiro Dodville, when he might have won if not left in front three out, and Gorgeous Tom.

He won on handicap debut in good fashion at Tipperary, beating a rival who went on to finish runner-up in a handicap at the Punchestown festival, and should be bang there if ready to rock on his return.

Going update

The ground is good, good to yielding in places (hurdle) & good (chase). Watering continues with a dry forecast.

What they say

Mark Fahey, trainer of Happy Jacky
Peter Smithers gets on very well with him and he's been very consistent this season. He ran well at Gowran last time over three miles and the drop back in trip is probably a bit short for him, but Naas is a tough track so hopefully that can level it out.

Barry Connell, trainer of Espanito Bello
He'll run in everything we can find at Naas as he seems to be 10lb better there and he's a very versatile horse. I thought he ran well on reappearance at Punchestown. He got a fair whack for winning this race last year but he should be competitive.

Philip Rothwell, trainer of The Busy Fool
Hopefully the ground is yielding as I wouldn't run him on proper good. He's stepping up in trip which will hopefully suit and we'd like to think he can be competitive. His maiden form has worked out well and his handicap win has too so we're looking forward to getting him out.
