You're never too old! The trio of top ten-year-olds set to light up the weekend
You are never too old, whether you want to be US president or a high-class Saturday winner over jumps. As in the White House, where a man of 78 replaced a 74-year-old tenant this week, so it may be in the Clarence House at Ascot.
The Matchbook-sponsored chase has scarcely been a senior citizens' benefit since becoming a Grade 1 event in 2007, with only one winner older than nine in that period, with that age group just one from 16 in the last decade.
But it is not an overdose of Werthers Originals that has caused the bookmakers to have two ten-year-olds at the head of the betting for the second top-level 2m chase of the season.
