Big test for Ballydoyle's promising Dublin as he faces Mutasarref in the Listed Navigation Stakes

Mutasarref:
Mutasarref: dual Group 3 winner bids for Listed success at CorkCredit: Patrick McCann

Dublin looked another promising Ballydoyle three-year-old when making light work of his rivals in a maiden at Listowel eight days ago but faces a tough assignment on just his second start in the Listed Navigation Stakes.

Having ranged up travelling well at the two-furlong pole, the Dubawi colt didn't immediately pick up due to greenness but began to get the idea half a furlong from the line before storming to a four-length success over much more experienced rivals.

The runner-up and well-beaten third are rated 88 and 75 so we could be dealing with a smart colt, but he will have to be to defeat Mutasarref, particularly given his relative inexperience.

A three-time Listed and dual Group 3 winner, the six-year-old has been in cracking form, fending off Mountain Bear at Leopardstown before an excellent second to Diego Velazquez in the Solonaway Stakes last time out.

That appeals as strong form and the race clocked a fast time, while he handles all types of ground and is tactically versatile. He rates the most likely winner.

Magical Sunset takes a significant step back in class, having beaten just one rival in her last two starts in Group 1 company. On the pick of her form, she would have a solid chance, particularly based on her fourth in the Duke of Cambridge.

Goldana had Magical Sunset seven and a half lengths behind when finishing third in the Park Express in March before scoring at this level at Leopardstown. She was an excellent second in Group 2 company in May and should come forward for her run at Gowran ten days ago, although she will want some rain to arrive.

Irish Cambridgeshire winner Wigmore Street stepped up in trip for the Northfields Handicap last time, running another big race to finish third despite being keen. The drop in trip is understandable, but he will need them to go at a brisk pace in front and that doesn't seem guaranteed, while Power Under Me and Self Belief would need rain to show their best.

Going update

The ground is good to yielding on the straight course and yielding, good to yielding in places on the round course following 30mm of rain on Sunday. The forecast is for it to be mainly dry.

What they say

Adrian Murray, trainer of Magical Sunset
She's in good form and is taking a drop back in class, having run in Group 1 company the last twice. She ran very well at Ascot before that. On that form, hopefully she has a chance.
