'This has been the plan for a while' - who will walk out €500,000 richer in Goffs Million?

The Goffs Million is typically a fiendish puzzle to evaluate as a large field of juveniles do battle for a lucrative pot. It was won in devastating fashion by a newcomer last season in One Look, but there's a bit more form to go on this time.

There is little doubt Antelope Canyon ran to a high level when taking a Naas maiden this month as the runner-up Currawood had finished placed in two strong maidens behind Hazdann and The Lion In Winter beforehand.

Antelope Canyon won by half a length at Naas, improving plenty for his debut at the same track when he finished fifth behind Diego Ventura. The form of the latter race is working out particularly well.

The son of No Nay Never was briefly headed by Currawood inside the final furlong but battled back admirably and was going away at the line. There was a five-and-a-half-length gap back to the chasing pack, which included the 85-rated Manhattan Chute, so it's formidable form. He steps up to 7f but should have little issue with it on breeding given his dam won over a mile and a half. He could be tough to beat.

Apples And Bananas hasn't looked back since finishing sixth on his debut. He landed a Killarney maiden in good style when beating subsequent winner Puppet Master, before showing an excellent attitude to score in Listed company at Deauville over a mile last month.

The drop back to 7f isn't ideal given how well he stayed a mile the last twice, but he is a promising colt and sets a proper standard.

Garden Of Eden appreciated the drop back to this distance last time when running Chantez close at Leopardstown, but she might be flattered a touch given the winner wandered around in front.

The maiden form shown by Dante's Lad has been working out well as he's been third in races won by Delacroix and Monumental, who are both Group performers. He is open to improvement and rates a big each-way player.

Celtic Motif was just a head behind Garden Of Eden at Naas last month when looking the likeliest winner for most of the straight, although she was demoted to third for causing interference. She can't be dismissed.

Paddy Twomey saddled One Look to a sensational victory last season and relies on American Bar, who got up late despite showing greenness to win at Listowel in June. She'll have to put a disappointing effort in Group 2 company at the Curragh behind her, however.

Senna's Girl is worth a look at a big price for trainer Diego Dias. She has been keeping high company of late in stakes company and was a very good third behind Lake Victoria and Red Letter on her debut.

What they say

Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Antelope Canyon and Garden Of Eden
Antelope Canyon won nicely over six furlongs at Naas and we always thought the step up to seven wouldn't be a problem. Garden Of Eden ran a good race at Leopardstown last time and has been in good form since.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Apples And BananasDante's LadCeltic Motif and Valencia
Apples And Bananas won a Listed race at Deauville last time and this race has been the plan since. Dante's Lad was good on his debut at the Curragh and ran well last time when Gowran didn't really seem to suit. He wouldn't want too much rain. Celtic Motif ran well at Naas where she just got bumped in the last hundred yards. She would probably have won otherwise so has a chance. Valencia was beaten by a good filly at Leopardstown so hopefully has an each-way chance.

Diego Dias, trainer of Senna's Girl
She's been running well in good company and won't mind a bit of give in the ground. We've had this race in mind for a while.
