20 Paul Townend
The champion jockey title might have been forfeited to Jack Kennedy in 2024, but Paul Townend still had a remarkable year.
Willie Mullins' stable jockey was victorious in jumping's three most coveted races, the Grand National, Cheltenham Gold Cup and Champion Hurdle. Townend, who rides almost exclusively for Mullins, partners many of the sport's best horses but he continues to be an asset, not a hindrance, to them, as was particularly evident in his sublime County Hurdle-winning performance on Absurde.
