'Positive disruption' is the aim as Racing League unveils first team sponsors
The driving force behind the new team competition to be staged later this year across six summer Thursday evenings has said the event aims to "positively disrupt" British racing as he unveiled its first four team sponsors.
Radio station talkSPORT, trading platform eTORO, social media marketing agency Goat and ODDSbible, the betting community wing of publishing group LADbible, will back four of the 12 teams taking part in the inaugural staging of Racing League, set to begin at Newcastle on July 29.
Doncaster, Lingfield and Windsor will also stage fixtures during a competition comprising 36 Sky Sports Racing-televised £50,000 handicaps, in which the likes of John Gosden, Joseph O'Brien, Frankie Dettori and Oisin Murphy are due to participate.
Organisers described their new commercial partners as "dynamic brands" which would "help to build affinity for Racing League with a youthful, digitally-savvy audience".
Chief executive Jeremy Wray said: "Partnering with talkSPORT, ODDSbible, eToro, and The Goat Agency epitomises what Racing League is all about. These partnerships demonstrate our bold intent to forge long-term relationships with the next generation of horseracing sponsors, which in turn will help Racing League engage with a new type of racing fan.
"They are brands who are positively disrupting their respective industries, which is what Racing League is aiming to accomplish with horseracing. We're thrilled to have them on board, and look forward to working closely with them and connecting with their audiences."
