Philip Davies MP among the candidates seeking election to ROA board

Conservative MP Philip Davies is standing for election of a different sort as he has been revealed as one of the ten candidates seeking a place on the board of the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA).

Davies, an owner for 18 years who currently has shares in horses in training with Oliver Greenall, Mick Easterby, David Pipe and Jo Foster, said he felt his political experience could be of help to the ROA given the challenges faced by the industry.

He said: "I am a massive horseracing fan and very passionate about it. I want the sport to thrive and I think it is going through a difficult patch at the moment for all sorts of reasons, many of them caused by the pandemic but by no means all of them. Some of them are more structural.
