Paul Nolan is planning another big-race tilt with Latest Exhibition at Fairyhouse next month, although a decision on which race his stable star runs in at the Easter festival in will be delayed.

Nolan, fresh from saddling Mrs Milner to win the Pertemps Final, opted to sidestep Cheltenham with Latest Exhibition, who has the options of the Irish Grand National on April 5 or the Gold Cup Novice Chase the previous day.

His chosen target could depend on Envoi Allen's participation in the latter, as Nolan explained: “A lot will depend on where Envoi Allen runs. I would say for Latest Exhibition it’s 50-50 between the Irish Grand National and the novice chase. It will be left right up until the last minute.

“If Tiger Roll was to run in the Irish National it would be a help to us because I wouldn’t like to be carrying top weight. Having said that, the novices seem strong this year, as we saw when Coko Beach and Run Wild Fred finished first and second in the Thyestes."

On Latest Exhibition, runner-up to Monkfish on his last two starts: Nolan added: “If someone was to tell me at the beginning of the season that the best horse in my yard would have a beginners' chase won at this time of year, and only a beginners' chase, I would have been shocked. I will try to rectify that at Fairyhouse.”

Nolan faces a similar dilemma about where to run Mrs Milner, up 10lb for her five-length Pertemps win.

Nolan added: “There are a couple of options now but you’d have to say handicaps are out. You could run in the 2m4f mares’ Grade 1 at Punchestown or run in the Stayers’. I’d love to be able to keep her over three miles but she might have to take on Flooring Porter and the likes of them, which won’t be an easy task, but there is not much else for her.”

He added: “We were delighted with her in the Pertemps. After having so many seconds, it has been a frustrating enough season and for her to go over there and do that, it gave us all a huge lift.”
