Paddy Power unveiled as returning sponsors for Cheltenham's November meeting
Paddy Power’s association with Cheltenham’s November meeting will be reignited next month after the bookmaker announced a three-year deal to be lead sponsor for the three-day meeting.
The firm sponsored the feature handicap chase on day two for 13 years from 2003 until 2015, before BetVictor took over, but Paddy Power returned to sponsorship at Cheltenham on January 1 and have extended their support to the Jockey Club Racecourses-owned venue.
Prize-money for the feature Paddy Power Gold Cup has been cut by £30,000 to £130,000, while the bookmaker will sponsor four other races at the meeting.
Paddy Power said: “England fans have spent a lot of time singing ‘It’s coming home,’ over the last few years, but unlike them, I feel it actually has for us!
“We loved sponsoring the Paddy Power Gold Cup and I’m absolutely over the moon at being associated with my favourite race again. We’d like to thank the previous sponsors for keeping it warm for us.”
Inspection called at Windsor
Windsor's meeting on Monday is subject to an inspection at midday on Sunday with the track currently unraceable.
38mm of rain has fallen at the course on Friday and Saturday with 48mm in all this week, leaving the track waterlogged in places.
