Racecourses must take note, many people still use cash
In his letter (October 3), Ken Pedrick requested someone put forward a case to get the policy of cashless racecourses reversed.
I would look no further than the latest Post Office cash tracker where it was reported that post offices handled £3.61 billion in cash deposits and withdrawals in August.
The total cash deposits value totalled £2.7bn, a slight decline compared to July’s record-breaking numbers, but a year-on-year increase of 9.2 per cent. Cash withdrawals amounted to £934 million, an 8.1 per cent rise year-on-year.
