Dave Geddes, landlord of The Wheel in Lambourn, given a shot in the arm since racehorse owner Dave Klein took it on last year, is bracing himself for a blockbuster shift on Friday when the Peter O'Sullevan Lambourn Open Day resumes after a three-year break.

A deep breath was taken when, after I ordered a pint of Guinness at the weekend, it was put to him that Friday might be a busy one.
