Tom Segal with a trainer, a jockey and a horse to follow this jumps season - including a fancy for the Triumph
At the start of a new season in any sport it's always fun to try to work out which of the participants or teams are going to overachieve and provide their supporters with some highs throughout the coming months.
It goes without saying Willie Mullins will again dominate the jumps season and he will probably be champion trainer in both Britain and Ireland. However, nobody needs to be told that and so I thought I'd come up with one horse, one trainer and one jockey from leftfield that I expect to have good seasons and to put themselves in the forefront of the minds of racing fans.
It is actually two trainers who are worth following – the Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero combination. Considering they had more than 50 winners in the last two seasons, a Cheltenham Festival winner and a winner over the Aintree fences, I'm not splitting the atom in suggesting them as ones to watch. However. I think they are well capable of taking the step up into the big league now and I think they will have plenty of fancied runners in the big races this season.
