The duds even Aidan has forgotten about: it's time for our alternative O'Brien award
It’s the Cartiers on Wednesday evening and no doubt Aidan O’Brien and ‘the lads’ will be picking up more silverware. The mind boggles as to where they can possibly put it all.
O’Brien’s greatest award winners have been eulogised many times, though, so I thought it might be fun to come up with a shortlist for an alternative O’Brien award: the worst ever horse to come out of Ballydoyle.
Given the number of horses who go through his hands, even the great man has trained a fair few who really didn’t cut it in the racing game. So here are the duds who even O’Brien himself has probably forgotten about.
