That King George cracker: well done all, this was a truly epic contest

Watching ITV’s brilliant coverage at Ascot last Saturday I could not help thinking how much the great Sir Peter O’Sullevan would have loved the wonderful duel that we witnessed mid-afternoon.

What made me think of this was the great build-up in which we got some reruns of previous epic King George finishes called home by the one and only ‘Voice’.

With Frankie Dettori and Enable and James Doyle and Crystal Ocean, we witnessed one of the epic contests in any sport, let alone ours.
