James Browne: bill will introduce "really tight restrictions" on bookmaker offers

Ireland's controversial Gambling Regulation Bill passed the legislative process last week and one of the most contentious points of debate in the latter stages was section 157, which introduces a significant curtailment on bookmakers' ability to offer inducements.

Several senators launched vehement criticisms of junior minister James Browne for failing to introduce an outright ban on inducements, but Browne insisted there were already "really tight restrictions on the types of offers that can be made".
