The old adage that necessity is the mother of invention has rarely been as relevant as during the last 18 months, with fresh solutions engineered to overcome unprecedented challenges, as highlighted in the Racing Post's weekly Powering Through The Pandemic series.

Racing has proved remarkably adaptable and although many of the Covid-influenced changes haven't been ideal, one adjustment that has been overwhelmingly positive is the introduction of 48-hour declarations for all meetings in Ireland.
