During my years in Ireland, I never had many opportunities to enjoy the country from the perspective of a tourist and so with that sort of time now available to me, I have spent some time travelling around the country.

I started off with a David Gray concert in Dublin earlier in the week, which was great fun, before I went along to Laytown on Tuesday, somewhere I never had the opportunity to visit during my career.

As authentic Irish experiences go, racing on the beach at Laytown has to be up there among the best of them and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves and getting behind the day. It is a unique experience and everybody who enjoys racing should consider heading over to see it at least once.
