John Gosden deserves massive credit for rejuvenation of brilliant Cracksman
It was great racing on Champions Day and it was thrilling to see three of John Gosden's runners win. I was really impressed by Cracksman's victory in the Champion Stakes and it was great to see him bounce back. He travelled lovely and then just shot five lengths clear, it was so impressive to watch. His action was terrific and what took me was the way he came home up the straight. It was quite unbelievable.
The fact that John has got him back and sweetened him up deserves a lot of credit. John has the best horses in the country, but to be fair to him he is getting the best out of them too.
I had lunch with John on Saturday and a couple of his owners were having cold feet about running Stradivarius on the ground, but he convinced them to take their chance, and he was rewarded by a win in the Long Distance Cup. With owners it is harder to convince them to run when the conditions of a race are not in their favour than take them out before a race.
