We’re a week into 2019, so plenty of people’s resolutions might already be bust, but if I had one new year wish it would be for someone with racing’s interests at heart to emerge and lead it to a better future.

If you look at any successful organisation there is normally one person who influences and makes the key decisions.

The issues critical to the success of racing are fixtures, prize-money, television rights and legislation, but there appears to be too many decision-makers in racing, and each with their own agenda. We need to get synergy between those decision-makers to ensure the best choices are being made for the good of the sport and not for individuals to gain at the expense of it.
