Happy holidays for dual-licence yards suggests training partnerships could be the way forward
Not many trainers can boast a 100 per cent strike-rate but for a short time this week the new partnership of Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls had an unblemished record after Moon Rocket, their very first runner as training partners, did the business at Southwell on New Year's Day.
Nicholls has been part of the furniture at Thorndale Farm for years but if the success other partnerships are having is anything to go by, then Bailey bringing his long-time assistant on to the licence could be an inspired move.
It has been a prosperous festive period for dual-licence stables. In particular, the combination of Jonjo and AJ O'Neill and that of Philip Hobbs and Johnson White have enjoyed plenty of success since Christmas Day.
