Charlie Fellowes may not have hit the back of the net at Royal Ascot this year, but the trainer recently achieved a much more coveted ambition on equally hallowed turf up in the East Midlands.

A lifelong Nottingham Forest fan, Fellowes and his fellow trainer and friend George Scott were invited to take part in an informal 11-a-side match behind closed doors at the City Ground, where Fellowes has been a supporter for more than 20 years.

The fixture was staged just days after Forest's final home match of the Championship season, a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Preston North End, and was organised by Joe Soiza, an owner with Fellowes.
