An exhaustive search led owner-breeder Ritchie Fiddes and his family to Newlands Stables in Lambourn, from where Ollie Pimlott will train, but one of the village's most famous properties remains vacant should any budding trainers be reading.

Uplands became notable because of the exploits of the legendary Fred Winter and his champions Pendil, Bula and Lanzarote, but it has been gathering dust since Warren Greatrex departed recently to move to nearby Rhonehurst.

Greatrex rented the yard, where Charlie Brooks, Jane Chapple-Hyam and Stan Moore among others have also been tenants, from former trainer Charles Egerton.
