The top-quality Newmarket fixture is the standout meeting on Saturday and I have a feeling the unstoppable force that is Aidan O'Brien is going to do plenty of damage throughout the afternoon.

O'Brien's first runners on the card come in the Group 3 Palace Pier Zetland Stakes (1.50) over 1m2f. Wayne Lordan rides Gowran winner County Mayo but Ryan Moore throws his leg over the highly touted Shackleton, who has not really lived up to the hype attached to him. He did win a 1m1f maiden on his most recent start at the Curragh and promises to be suited by the extra furlong here, so he gets a narrow vote over the Ralph Beckett-trained Starzintheireyes, who I rate as his only danger.

Shackleton's proven stamina is likely to be crucial and he can get O'Brien up and running on the day.
