Bahrain brilliance just the tip of Oisin Orr's inspired move to Britain - and he's on his way back to the very top

Racing lives off dramatic storylines with a happy ending, so the powers-that-be must have been thrilled when Spirit Dancer followed the script and pulled off a history-making win in last week's Bahrain International Trophy for Sir Alex Ferguson.

I was lucky to be able to watch Ferguson's delight in the desert, alongside joint-owner Ged Mason and trainer Richard Fahey, from the track. It was no surprise the limelight was on the legendary Manchester United manager after his star became the only dual winner of the $1 million contest under Oisin Orr.

As the international media huddled around Ferguson, only a few chatted to Orr. Just as he was throughout the week in the stifling heat, he was ice-cool – as he was for his winning ride which was another huge feather in his cap for Fahey.
