Adrimel an outsider to note on a day when I'm hoping Defi will star again
The Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase is a fantastic contest and potentially still the race of the festival. I'm not riding in it but you won't be surprised to learn who I'll be supporting.
I was lucky enough to be on Defi Du Seuil's back when he won the 2017 JCB Triumph Hurdle by a wide margin. That was his first Cheltenham Festival win. Last season's JLT Novices' Chase was his second and I'm hoping he returns home to Philip Hobbs' yard on Wednesday having secured his third success at the meeting (3.30).
This season, like last season, he has got better and better with each run. From three runs he has posted three big wins under Barry Geraghty, which makes him the one to beat in my opinion.
